Give an illustration from Duhigg of the power of relationships to create change for individuals and for groups.
An illustration that Duhigg states is when Rosa Parks refuses to give up her seat on the bus to a white person. It actually started a movement between black people and rebel. There were tons of friendships and relationships forming after Rosa Parks was put in jail. This started a movement, and black people weren’t showing up to their jobs until they got equal rights as the whites did. “And the Power of those friendships became apparent as soon as Parks landed in jail. (p. 89) All of the people became friends and stated a community to rebel together. they were all angry. “So when she was arrested, it triggered a series of social habits– the habits of friendships– that ignited an initial protest.” (p. 88) They were all angry and come together to protest together, as a group and a family.
